  • When I was 7,my uncle(who owns a wrecker service)got a service call.My Dad&I were there and went with him to find a man pinned to the ground(with his eyes wide with a death stare)by an H-distillate.Lucky,nobody hurt here.Just a note,I bought that old H when I turned 25 and theres not a time when I don't see my silent passenger.

  • I rolled a Cockshutt 40 on Aug 2,1961....5;00 P.M. I survived uninjured also....extremely lucky some would say or I would say my guardian angel spared me. How did you escape that??? Did you jump off the back??

  • Watched my Dad flip a WD-45 Allis tricycle when I was about 7. He jumped off into a paved street, then ran back and shut it off with the tractor still in gear. We were both lucky.

  • That is scary, how did you get off?

  • Man I remember the days when it was no big deal to ted & rake hay with an H on steep slopes riddled with wood chuck mounds with shifter bungeed into 4th cause the gears where so worn it would pop out under load. I cringe at the thought of my kids wanting to drive my H now. Glad to hear you made it out ok.

  • Maybe a good Heavy rear weight will help prevent future roll-overs.IF you are careful..! Ron.

  • You are indeed a lucky man. Most of these don't work out so well.

  • I had driven up and down the side hill a couple of times already. The loader was just a bit higher while going back down the final trip of the day. I felt the steering wheel tug a bit hard and felt the left wheel start to lift. My guardian Angel without hesitation told me to get off NOW! I lept off the same direction the tractor was rolling. Before my feet touched the ground, my guardian Angel told me to run as fast as possible at least 50 feet. My son was on a 4-wheel ATV just up the hill and looked just before I touched the ground. He told me he'd never seen me run so fast. It didn't really hit me until the next day when I saw these pictures how lucky I am. I recent climbed aboard to drive the M again for the first time about 2 weeks ago. Trust me, I'm much more cautious about every time I lift my foot off the clutch.

  • Tat is why you only lift a loader up high enough to go where you need to go and then and only then do you lift it higher to dump the load

  • Leading Cause of death by equipment Fork lifts/load carried too high. Thank You for ROPS being thought of, to at least give operator a chance of getting out alive. Merle Watson died from another leading cause of "Death by Tractor", trying to pull up tree stump improperly. ROPS might have saved his life also? PTO shafts and the mower it is turning would be up there also.
